I've nv felt so strongly for SG's national day b4... however strangly, all of us felt quite enthu for the bday while we r abroad. we even planned to go out n celebrate on the day itself though its a thurs n we all have no holidays (hey, i think we shld propose to the co. to let us off for the day!). some even mentioned abt setting off fireworks here! hahaha... hopefully we can really do tat man...

In past years, i will normally hav a feeling of sadness of empitness whenever NDP is approaching (dun ask me y... i dun even wan to ask myself y). hopefully this yr i will feel happier here ba.. haha.. jia you!!

boring work day... AGAIN!

Here i am, back at work in this boring place.... oops, hope no 1 sees this but i dun really care aldy. wat i really do for the entire day is just to do some translation, msn or surf the net. although i get to do some more interesting copywriting the day b4 BUT its still BORING!

Actually, i dun mind me nt getting much to do... hahhaa... cos this internship thing does not affect my honours classification n its only a pass or fail. i can juz slack thru n get my 5AUs at the end of the day. most impt thing is i wan to enjoy my time in SH. hee hee...

Oh ya.. the weather is like 37 degree these 2 days... feels like free sauna! wahahahaha... n i think i am getting a tan! the 10mins walk frm the train station to work is gd, it gets my muscle going as i feel them slacking down aldy. hey buck up buck up!!! more exercising for me from now on.

Poor me is still resting frm my sickness... seems like i am starting to lose my voice soon but luckily my cousin managed to get me a bottle of Pi Pa Gao to soothen my throat. can't express my ultimate gratefulness for this... a big THANK YOU!

At least it rained today n its nt so bloody hot like the past few days... the weather during these few days was horrendous! gosh... its really like a big sauna out in the streets n i kept sweating like hell. let's hope autumn will come soon. peeps, pray for me tat i will get over this in 1 piece. hee hee...

1st day at work...

Finally, after so much rest today is the 1st day of work. Feel a little draggy but managed to reach my office earlier but in the end..... my office didnt noe i was suppose to start work today so i was made to wait for an hour b4 i was accepted by my team supervisor. did nothing the whole day except when it is near 530 when they asked me to do some translation for a report. well, u all noe my english standard la... actually i felt quite pressurized cos i'm nt confident of my own english. in the past, there will also b ppl checking for me, now, i'm the person checking for the entire co. other than tat... i wasnt even brief on wat i'm suppose to do or wat i will b expecting in my work. still feel quite lost.... even during lunch time, we all hav to call take away n eat in... i hated tat...

Feeling rather moody now... dun really feel like going to work tml. the only gd things are, i'm allowed to wear casual to work, which is a super gd news cos my toes actually bleed today cos of the shoes i'm wearing. 2nd gd thing is, my working hours is not 930-630, which means i am able to escape all the squeezy, crowded time!

But still.... feeeling tired n moody.... dun really feel like going to work tml...

Hey peeps, sorry i cant personally see all the msges u all left for me in the tagboard but i've finally managed to read it somehow. thanks! hee... i am still ok here, getting a little bit home sick n trying to get use to life. think i wanna learn to be even more independent eventhough i am aldy rather independent. haha..

Everyday i do quite a lot of housework and cos the air is very bad here, it gets dusty very fast! wash clothes, wash dishes, mop and sweep the flr... soon it will b cleaning toilet n stuff. really nt easy to live by myself without parents. how i shld appreciate them now...

!st post in Shanghai

Guys and gals, I am finally here, @ the land of the pearl! Its weird that I cant seem to see my own blog but i can actually post stuff. Apparently, i think China blocked out blogspot. They have quite tight control over the media content here 1.

Anyway to summerise my life here, the weather here sucks, its so freaking hot here n its drier. the places here is ok, quite a few places to shop n look ard n quite modern also. Certain places can be very crowded @ times esp the train during peak hours. Yest we really got squeezed into sardines!!! i am nt kidding, its really flat sardines and everyones bodies is touching one another's n if u leave ur both feet above the ground u wont fall down!!! worse still, 1 of the train doors can malfuction and all hav to squeeze to the other exits to alight and board lor. haha.. really an eye opener.

The people here, gosh, rude rude rude ppl. esp those working for public services like MRT or bus counters or super markets. it is as if they can die if they tell u more info. we always got rude responses when we ask ard for directions or other things. and they like to quarrel and argue in the public at the top of their voice attracting out curious stares. haha..

As for my own house, hai... really got 101 things happened lor. something's wrong here, something's wrong there and once 1 thing got fixed, something else will b spoilt again. n the area i'm living in is quite ulu as compared to the city area. the surrounding areas r quite dark, its either no lamps or it is spoilt or watever. the lift has no ventilation at all. alamak! best thing is, during 1st nite our house water pipe burst n almost flooded the entire house. i really think this yr i got 水灾命.

I guess my experience is too much to be written n summarised here and i am getting tired now. recently had been too hectically going around shanghai and to say the truth, i am nt used to the life here and am wondering how the hell i am going to get use to it.

Housing settled

hmm.. time is drawing really near.. gosh.. i think it has flew! but i dun feel anything. oh my oh my.. seems like i am nt even prepared for it.

anyway finally managed to settle my housing! my god lor.. its like taking forever since 2mths ago but now its finally been done n buried, hope the house is gd enuff. apparently it is only 3mins walk frm the train station then i need to take another 30-40mins rite to my office in town central and walk another 8mins to reach my office. so agar i will take abt 50mins to reach office ba. its abit far but no choice also... haha..

here are some photos for the house. nt exactly the state of the art but... well its nt bad also la. this cost me abt $220/mth but i will b getting my own room, yay! other students got better house in better location with cheaper rates! hai... no choice also.

oh ya! i juz abt finish packing my stuff and guess how heavy my luggages are?? 29kg!!! hahaha.. die la... dun tink i can even carry so much. still got another sling bag n laptop to take up to the plane. think i got to go reduce liao... faint~~
