Since i am aldy back to the sg land, haninsh doesnt make much sense anymore, so this shall be the final post for this blog tat i have started 6mths ago.
just like how it started, i cant believe that it has ended. i still remember b4 i left for shanghai, i am asking y in the world did i signed up for this program, i missed sg like hell n cant bear to leave my comfort zone. now i am back, it is even worse cos the life in shanghai is not 1 tat i can ever go back to..
a lot had happened during this time n all of us had certainly been thru a lot. this bunch of ppl who r so young (84, 86 & 87), comes frm different bkgrd n different courses, but so conincidently we came into contact thru this GIP. for me, i am so different in so many ways but still managed to blend in somehow.
inspired by liting's blog, i've decided to say some words about each of them. in no particular order these are for the few individuals whom i've met during my ordeal in shanghai n made my life so fun n enjoyable there:
my housemates
though we lived under the same roof for 6mths, we nv really bonded very well, esp after we started going out other families. but still, we helped each other a lot thruout these 6 mths n been thru the thick n thin together when our house got into some problems. we also spent the 1st few weeks touring and enjoying ourselves n went into the huge chore of moving in and moving out of the house. without them, my life in shanghai wouldnt b complete.
Jing jing: the innocent little girl who've helped me a lot n worried abt the playful me when i got drunk. although naive at times but she puts in a lot of effort in making others happy.
thanks so much for ur company n help thruout the 6mths n nt forgetting the dumplings u gave me! sorry i always nagged or scolded u in a way... hope u wont take those words to heart. life is still long n full of ups n downs, set priorities and learn n grow along the way~~
Xiaoying: the girl who is the last to join our family n the most famous person in GIP 2007. another gemini like jing jing.. hahaha.. although weird at times, i am somehow able to tahan n control her. strangely, i can also go shopping with her.. she likes cleaniless so i feel abit bad tat she has to tahan thru our super dirty house during the 6mths. =)
Rongxin: the strongest guy in our family, 2nd to or on par with clarence i think. haha.. very determine, hardworking and serious man whom i somehow clashed with in the beginning. but our bond got stronger n better as many things happened in my family. thanks him for the help in carrying all the heavy stuff in our house which includes our shopping bag! haha... though he will nt see this, but still wish him all the best in his future endeavors. i believe he will make it far in life. =)
Swee Meng: my drinking buddy in the house cos we both like to taste different beers in china n they r so cheap! a nice guy who always helped me in 1 way or another n treated me to all those nuts & donuts! still remember the daily morns & nites. haha.. though his beliefs always clashed with mine but rx n him always showed me a decent level of respect as i'm the oldest among all.
a clever n hardworking man whom i wish i can spend more time getting to noe him better n hav more chance to sing more duets with him! thanks so much for helping me bring back my stuff!
Liting:
the 1st person i contacted n get to noe in GIP. n the 1st n only GIP mate who sat in my car b4. haha.. had lots of fun chatting nonsense n heart to heart stuff with her till late nights n in the office when we were both bored to tears. a fun loving girl who can make ppl laugh out loud. another girl who will go to the extend to help others whenever needed. both of us really shared lots of stuff n gossips together.. haha.. so close tat rx always asked me to move to puxi to stay instead. haha..
really enjoyed the beijing trip u planned for us.. thx so much~ though we kinda drifted towards the last few weeks in shanghai, i still want to thank you for making my shanghai trip so memorable n fulfilling. jiayou girl, n i'm sure u can achieve watever u wish to do in life!
Junjie:
together with liting, he is also part of the crapping trio in the beginning. although sometimes cant stand his naggings.. hahaha... oops. hey... glad tat things turned out the way it did.. maybe can treat me to a meal? hgahahaha... kidding. can talk some problems with him sometimes, overall a nice guy la... hahaha.. wish u all the best in ur studies n career n of cos in relationship issue too. if nt i will punch u.. hahahha...

Hahaha.. another GEMINI n LT's roommie. she was a hongkie which kinda surprised me! a cute n fun-loving lady who is so energetic n fun to b with. always entertaining us n starts all her gossips n stuff which will eventually lead to scandals. hahaahh.. also the 1 who left shanghai the earliest n she wsa missed since then! hey ger, all the best in spain n hav tons of fun traveling ard! take care~~

This guy who looks serious but isnt serious at all. who terrorized my room while i was away for trip.. haiyoh.. my poor green man.. sob sob. but then again, thx for cleaning up my room after the destructions. haha.. a guy who gets emotional at times n always tease me anyhow.. pengz.. but overall a mr. nice guy whom i can chat with.
GIP has ended le but we all hav to move on, so dun think too much abt it also le. thanks for being 1 of the few guys tat will listen to me. haha.. =)
Clarence
This self-proclaimed ah-mud lookalike, really the most "happening" guy among the GIP peeps. always jestering ard n making ppl laugh, though he sorta quieten down abit when GIP near its end but he is still a fun guy to b ard with. haha.. but i dunnoe y he seems abit serious n feel uneasy when he talks to me.. i am nt tat scary wat.. hahaha... he is also the guy who ta me dunnoe how many drinks during tat bon bon nite.. n ultimately the VODKA NEAT which completely knocked me out! hahaha... see! he got his punishment tat nite too!!! wahahahah... he is a Navy Diver ok.. mai siao siao.. strong n really sporty.. gd in basketball too.. haha.. UPS for young gals out there..

Though i dun really know him very, very well.. he is the renowned shopping king in shanghai n the most handsome guy also??? hahahaa... pengz.. a young n fun-loving chap who can take care of the girls too n come out with tons n tons of orientation games to keep us occupied.. n he can also cook really well! i mean.. we r always so envious of the blk46 peeps who have 2 chefs in their house to cook for them! his chinese is nt tat gd also n needs to b corrected many times.. haha.. a Navy sign on officer whom i didnt hav the chance to noe him very well eventually, maybe its all fated ba.. haha..

The prettiest girl in GIP. at 1st i was kinda scared of her n didnt talk to her.. always think tat she got her own style n wont go ard socialising n pleasing other ppl just for the sake it. really a cool n got character lady. somehow we got closer after the CBS trip n had many fun there too.. also a sporty girl tat received big influence frm her bro juz like me. so in some ways, we r quite similar also.. haha..
All the best girl n continue to study hard in NTU. we'll meet again somewhere, someday...

just like me, he is also the lao da ge in GIP as he is the same age as me n frm poly. although i find he is a little weird in the beginning cos of his wei wei in msn, but i find he is abt the same frequency as me in a way.
got the da ge seh when he does things n intro us to different places to eat n shop. tcc lover n love red wine too. n insist i am the alcohol addict although he can really drink also. =P

the ba bao zhou queen who can cook really nice ba bao zhou! also the most happening n noisy (oops) ger from blk 26. haha.. very sociable, talkative n likes gossip! also known as the shopping queen who can really fight with the king! despite all these, she is an asean scholar leh.. so muz b really brainy n hardworking girl in sch. hahaa... take EEE leh.. mai siao siao.. scholar for EEE leh.. the course is super tough.. hope can meet again some days n gossip again! haha..

the quiestest n nicest guy in GIP i suppose. he has some resemblance to someone else tat i noe.. hmm.. a very quiet n cool guy who is gd in soccer n in studies. write really nice chinese words n probably the most humble person i ever met. another asean scholar who is very hardworking!

Tennis addict n yanwen's tennis kaki. another brainy guy who is into photography n ktv also. very determine to do wat he likes n excel in them. looks like korean n got misken as 1 b4. haha.. a guy whom i can talk some stuff with also.. =)

BX's roommie n a very easy going guy. This guy is a Commando which i couldnt believe it at 1st! haha.. "我是OK的" - u can hear this coming out of his mouth very often. can sing relatively well, esp singing girl's part! 哦我的甜蜜~~~~ hahaha.. n nt forgetting he gave me lots of fa piao to claim my pay in shanghai. thx dude!! wish u all the best in ur nua-ness... ooops.. i mean in sch.. =P

Carmen a.k.a kettle 
this lame lady whom i've got close to at the end of the trip. really someone i can confide in n share things with. guess both of us have similar perception n thinking abt frenz n family. thanks for all the help u hav given n the fact for organizing the MAF celebration. a fren whom i noe will b there for me when needed. kettle n pot kept getting terrorized by me during the last few days in shanghai n i caused both of them to hav serious lack of slp n late for trip. well, i noe i wont get the chance to slp in the "ocean" at the center of the double bed anymore but it was really fun la... haha..
say lots of cold, lame jokes. walks really slowly n thinks too much with quite slow reactions! haha.. carmen can cook too! her dishes got the mummy taste 1 ok.. thx for cooking during the MAF n our 2nd last dinner in shanghai. yummy yummy...
always the 1 giving me (n the others) lots of nicknames, from panda to hangon then to iron. haha.. ok, u can call me hangon anytime~ really thx for the help & advice =)
Yanwen a.k.a pot xiao mei:
always described as the most mature n intellectual girl in GIP, but she is nt even old enuff to watch R21 movie yet! it really is a wonder how on earth can the oldest and youngest click together. although an introvert as proclaimed by herself, she really talks alot when it comes to the correct topic. shared lots of stuff abt life & interest with each other.. maybe she is a 25year-old trapped in a 20 year-old body!?? haha.. despite so, she has her little girl side at times la.. she is really nt as serious as everyone thought her to b.. always teamed up with kettle to tickle me when i fell asleep. haha.. in the end, i will knocked into her head (HARD) somehow. ouch!
the 6th GEMINI i knew in GIP n my shopping buddy. her chinese is super good, piano level is at post grade 8, likes tennis & sports, into foreign languages, films n excel in arts (Van Gogh!). also.. n she has a stomach tat is bottomless.. eats alot n still gets hungry every 2 hrs.
thanks for the naggings n the advices... haha.. okok, iron da jie shall really cut down on my drinking n so sorry for flying the aeroplane for ktv tat nite, know u n kettle were really angry.. will lead a BALANCED lifestyle from now on.. u too! all the best & take care!!
The few of us were talking about the old days in shanghai n it feels like it happened so long ago. i guess everyone missed those days too. we used to b so close n see each other everyday n now, we can only chat online n feels so far aprt. i kept recalling wat we did during the 6mths in fear tat i might nt remember it as time goes by.. although i am still having the after effect of leaving shanghai but soon it will become memories that will b sweet to recall n honoured to hav.
GIP Shanghai 2007 - probably the best decision i've made since in uni n now its time to really bid it goodbye.. 天下无不散的宴席, 再见~
Last 2nd dinner n last home-cooked dinner we had in shanghai. kudos to carmen as the main chef, jing jing as the 2nd cook n the rest as the dish washer n kitchen cleaner. haha...
so we had curry chicken tat doesnt really taste like 1, laksa turned lontong, tom yam soup tat is nt spicy enuff, fried rice n... tat white bee hoon thing which i didnt eat. haha.. nt bad la.. dun feel so stressed out le..

bernard is carmen's n yanwen's colleague at sulzar. he is frm sg too! so coincidently he came to hav 1 last lunch with us b4 we leave. he helped carmen with all her luggages. gosh!!

totally shagged after we got on the maglev train. didnt even hav time to take photos of the train cos we were rushing like mad n going to b late for our plane. gosh!
the maglev train can go up to the speed of 430km/h! wow.. even the cars outside the window feels like slow little tortoises..
@ 9pm, 23/12 we reached SG!!! check out all our luggages! my god... cant believe we carried all these frm shanghai to sg.
